Request deletion of your client account

Reviewed on 2 min read datos personales privacidad

You can request deletion of your account from the client area. This option is not for cancelling a single service: it affects the main login, sub-accounts, billing profiles and every associated service.

Before you request it

  1. Download the account's administrative data and any invoices you need to keep.
  2. Save the hosting files, databases and mailboxes separately. The account's JSON export does not contain that data.
  3. Move to another client account any hosting, domain or certificate that needs to stay active.
  4. Check pending payments, renewals and transfers.

Do not request deletion if all you want is to stop the next renewal. In that case, use the Cancel option on the service in question.

Request deletion

Sign in to the client area, go to My account > My details and use Delete my account at the bottom.

Access to full account deletion

The request disables access to the account. The services included will be processed for removal, even if they are still active. Do not count on being able to recover websites, email or domains afterwards that you have not moved or backed up beforehand.

The request does not mean that records which must be kept because of a legal obligation or to deal with claims are erased straight away. Their processing is limited to the applicable purpose and period. The AEPD explains the limits of the right to erasure.

This operation is for the main account holder; a sub-account cannot request it on their behalf. Before confirming, check that the services you moved are already managed from their destination and that you have a working contact channel outside the account you are going to delete.

If the request was a mistake, get in touch as soon as possible through a channel you know and explain what happened. Do not assume that signing in again or resetting a password will reverse the removal of services.
