Account, services and billing
Recover or reactivate hosting suspended or expired for non-payment
When hosting passes its renewal date without the pending payment being made, the account may be suspended. The website, cPanel, FTP and mailboxes stop being available until the renewal is processed, although suspension does not necessarily mean the data has been deleted.
Check the service status
Sign in to the client area and find the hosting. The next step depends on its status:
- Suspended: the account is still on the server, but it is blocked. It can usually be reactivated once the pending renewal is completed successfully.
- Expired or terminated: the service is no longer active and may have been removed from the server. Recovery will depend on whether its data or a backup still exists.
- Active: if the website still does not respond, the cause is not a service suspension and you should check DNS, resources, SSL or the application.
Pay a pending renewal
Open Billing > Pending payments, check that the proforma invoice is for the affected hosting and complete the payment. The guide How to make pending payments shows the available methods.
If the earlier proforma invoice was cancelled or no longer accepts payment, use the hosting's Renew option if it is still available and check the period before generating another request.
When the account is still suspended and the payment goes through successfully, the system processes its reactivation. Wait for confirmation before repeating the payment or creating another service for the same domain.
What happens to email during suspension
Mailboxes cannot sign in while the account is suspended. Sending servers may temporarily defer messages or bounce them, depending on their own policy and how long the interruption lasts. Reactivation does not guarantee you will recover messages that another provider has already rejected for good.
Once service is restored, test receiving and sending from an external account and check any pending delivery notices.
If the hosting has already been deleted
Do not order or pay an old renewal blindly: contact support first to confirm whether the account or any backup is still available. Whether backups exist, and their dates, depends on how much time has passed and the retention cycle, so a restore cannot be guaranteed.
If there is a recoverable backup, a compatible service will need to be activated before restoring the website, databases and email. If no backup is left, you can only rebuild the project from your own backups.
Checks after reactivation
- Sign in to cPanel and check that the expected files, databases and mailboxes are there.
- Test the website with and without
wwwand check the SSL certificate. - Send and receive email from external providers.
- Check cron jobs, forms and external services.
- Confirm the new renewal date and the payment method to avoid another interruption.
If the payment shows as received and it is still suspended
Open a ticket with the domain, the document number and the approximate time of payment. Say whether the panel shows a reason other than non-payment: a suspension for security or abuse requires that cause to be reviewed and is not necessarily resolved by paying a renewal.
