Group or separate renewal proforma invoices
By default we try to group upcoming renewals to reduce the number of proforma invoices and payments. You can turn this on or off from the client area, under Billing > Pending payments > Preferences > Group renewals into a single proforma.
Grouping only brings together compatible services. Separate proforma invoices are generated when the services use different billing profiles or different bank accounts, or when one is set not to use direct debit. Each service keeps its own period and renewal date, and the grouped proforma invoice takes the earliest date as its due date.
Turn the option off if you need a separate proforma invoice for each renewal. If several proforma invoices are already pending, changing this preference does not reorganise them: use the Merge option when it is available.
After saving, check the next batch of proforma invoices. If you expected one and several appear, first compare the tax recipient and the direct debit of each service. Grouping should not be read as a change of account holder, an extension of the contracted period or a new common date for all the services.
To correct documents already generated, review the options on each proforma invoice before paying. Changing this preference does not automatically split an existing proforma invoice.
