Hosting and cPanel
Configuration details and general information for a hosting service
Each account has its own connection details. Use those of the service you are setting up; a domain, IP or password from another hosting service may take you to a different destination.
Find the details
Log in to the client area, open Hosting, select the service and go to Login details. From there you can open cPanel and see the connection details available for the account.
Don't confuse the main cPanel user with the email you use to log in to the client area. Nor is it a mailbox password: each service has its own access.
Which information to use
- cPanel: use Open cPanel or the secure access shown for the account.
- Files: check the server, user and protocol in the SFTP and FTPS guide.
- Email: set up each mailbox with its full address and its password. Use the servers and ports from its configuration, not the main cPanel password.
- Versions and settings: open the Technical sheet. To connect a domain, use the service's DNS assistant and first check whether the email is with another provider.
If something doesn't match
Check that the service is active and that you have permission to see its access details. If you've just migrated the account or changed its password, also update the details saved in your programs.
Don't send a screenshot of the whole access screen: it may show passwords. When asking for help, give the service, protocol and error, sharing only the details needed.
