Hosting and cPanel
Reset a hosting service to start from scratch
If you want to empty your hosting to start again, ask support for a full account reset. It deletes data and configuration, which is different from restarting a process or reinstalling a single application.
Before you request it
Review all the websites, databases, mailboxes, tasks and access in the account, including addon domains. Download and verify, outside the hosting, a copy of anything you want to keep.
If you only need to replace one website, say so: you may be able to do it without removing the email or the other projects. Don't rely on a future automatic backup to undo a deletion.
Request and confirmation
- Log in to the client area and open Tickets > New ticket.
- Select the hosting affected and say that you want to start from scratch.
- Explain whether any data or service should be kept. Don't confirm a full deletion if there's still content you need.
- We'll review the scope and ask you for the relevant confirmation before going ahead.
The reset doesn't cancel the service or cancel the registered domain. The primary domain stays as the account's reference, unless a different operation has been agreed.
After the reset
Wait for our confirmation before uploading the new project. Check the access details, create the databases and mailboxes you need and review the DNS and external email before going live. The empty account doesn't automatically recover your previous application's configuration.
