Mail Alerts: order and stock notifications in PrestaShop

Mail Alerts / Email alerts adds email notifications related to orders and stock. Its availability, name and options depend on the PrestaShop version and the installed module. The official project is identified as ps_emailalerts.

Install and configure

1. Open the module manager and find Email alerts or Mail Alerts.
2. Check the author and compatibility before installing or updating it.
3. Go to its configuration and enable only the notifications you need.
4. Save the changes and test with a test order or product.

The module needs PrestaShop email to be working. It does not replace the SMTP configuration or guarantee that the recipient gets the message.

Customer

The availability alert lets the customer ask to be notified when the product is back in stock. Check that the form appears on the product, that it records the request and that the notification is sent when you restock.

Some versions include order edit notifications. Check which changes trigger them and whether they overlap with the emails tied to order statuses, to avoid duplicates.

Administrator

A stock threshold generates an alert; it does not necessarily block the purchase. Also check the out-of-stock ordering settings and the product's combinations.

If the notification does not arrive

First test general email sending. Then check that the event happened, that the option is enabled, that the recipient is correct and that the message is not in spam or rejected.

In multistore, check the shop context when saving. Keep the time, the test order or product and the expected result so the case can be investigated; do not reinstall the module blindly, because you could lose settings or subscriptions.
