User Manager

Reviewed on 2 min read usuarios cpanel

cPanel's User Manager option gives an overall view of the main user and the sub-accounts that group email, FTP and Web Disk services. It also lets you link accounts for those services that use the same name, so that they share credentials.

These sub-accounts can only access the services enabled for them: webmail, FTP or Web Disk. They cannot log in to cPanel. If you need someone else to access the panel with limited administrative permissions, use Manage Team instead of User Manager.

Review or create an access

Open cPanel > User Manager and find the user by their full name. Check which services they have active and, for FTP or Web Disk, which directory they can use.

To add one, use Add User, set their identity, contact email and password or invitation, and enable only the services they need. Then test each access you have enabled with those credentials.

If services with the same name appear, Link lets you group them. First check which credentials will be shared: programs that used different passwords may need updating. Do not link accounts just because their names match if they belong to different people or uses.

Remove a user

Before deleting, review the consequences for the associated services, especially email and files. If you only want to turn off one service, edit that specific access and check the result. The main user and some system accounts cannot be deleted from this tool.

For cPanel administrative permissions, see Manage Team.
