Is Memcached available?
The PHP extension for connecting to Memcached may be available on our services, but we do not provide a Memcached instance within the hosting. The extension is a client: enabling it does not create a server to connect to.
If your application requires Memcached, you will need a compatible service and its connection details. First check the protocol, authentication, encryption, latency and support in your application's PHP client. Do not copy a host such as localhost from an external guide on the assumption that the service exists on your account.
For an object cache within the hosting itself, every plan lets you activate Redis over a Unix socket. It is an alternative when the plugin or framework has a Redis integration; it is not a drop-in replacement for the Memcached configuration.
Choose a single object driver for each application, check the connection and measure the result. If you switch services, remove the previous integration in an orderly way to avoid errors and mixed-up cache data.
