Set up LiteSpeed Cache in PrestaShop

Reviewed on 3 min read rendimiento litespeed cache prestashop

The LiteSpeed Cache module lets the server cache reuse compatible PrestaShop pages. The result depends on the store, its modules and the share of responses that can be cached.

Prepare the installation

Check that the module version is compatible with your exact PrestaShop branch and PHP version. Keep a backup you can restore and test on a copy of the store first. Disable any other page cache modules following their own procedure; other caches, such as the object cache, do a different job.

LiteSpeed's installation uses overrides for part of its integration. In Advanced Parameters > Performance, check that Desactivar todas las sobrecargas / Disable all overrides is not enabled, as the vendor indicates. If you turned it on to solve another problem, look into that conflict before you continue.

Install and enable

  1. Download the ZIP from LiteSpeed's official guide for PrestaShop.
  2. In the admin panel, open Modules and the option to upload or install a module.
  3. Select the ZIP, wait for the installation to finish and open its configuration.
  4. Enable Enable LiteSpeed Cache and save.
  5. Check that there are no errors when .htaccess is updated. The module manages its own rules; do not replace PrestaShop's other rules.

If updating the file fails, check the permissions and follow the vendor's exact block for your version. Do not apply 777 permissions or server administrator commands as a generic fix.

Check the store

In a private window, visit a public category or product page twice and check the headers of the HTML document in Red / Network. A later request may show X-LiteSpeed-Cache: hit if the page has been cached.

Test prices, taxes, languages, currencies, variants, the cart, logging in and checkout in test mode. Use two sessions to check that no personal content is shared. Third-party modules may need specific rules or integration; the default settings are a starting point, not a guarantee of compatibility.

Purge changes and troubleshoot

From the module's settings you can purge selected content or its whole cache. Start with the affected pages. Check that changing a product updates its price, stock and related pages.

If there are errors, undo the last setting and test again. To stop using the module, disable its cache, purge the responses and check the store before uninstalling it. If you also use a CDN, check its cache separately.
